March Ale-berta Feature: SYC Brewing

In our newest monthly feature, we pick a different Alberta brewery that we carry in-store to highlight their incredible brews being made close to home!

Our March Ale-berta feature is SYC Brewing! Located in West Edmonton, SYC was founded by Andrea & Parker Pysyk and Richard Fyk in 2019. Their team is made up of big dreamers and doers who wanted to make beer for the believers and give a try-ers — for those not afraid to “Show Your Colours”, they’re here to “Share Your Craft”. Their beers are made with natural ingredients sourced locally as much as possible, with a wide selection of beer styles to satisfy a wide range of taste buds.

SYC doesn’t like to cut corners on quality and character of style in any of their unique brews; rather, they keep people at the centre of their recipes, design and experience. Every beer is made with the belief that it should be more than just a combination of ingredients, but rather something familiar, tasty and magical to drink. We carry the following beers from SYC in store at City Cellars:

Clock Out Lager

A classic beer for the end of a day or end of the week, this ultra crushable lager is light, crisp and clean. Brewed with choice pilsner malt and balanced with subtle citrus and floral hop bitterness, this lager is the perfect way to enjoy your "me" time.

First Timer IPA

Brewed with a focus on the flavour and aroma of Mosaic, Columbus and Centennial hops with bitterness to balance. The SYC IPA is a blend of fruity and dank hops with 100% Alberta malt.

Fjord New England IPA

This NEIPA harnesses the full power and fruit-forward esters of our Norwegian farmhouse yeast strain. Mosaic, Bru-1, and Vic Secret hops layer together flavours of mango, orange, and peach, with subtle hints of pine and spice. This hearty, full-bodied beer is sure to satisfy the most epic of adventurers.

LIT Radler

Tangerine and lemon notes make this Radler a refreshing and light brew (only 2.3% ABV) to enjoy on a sunny afternoon.

Pineapple F.O.M.O. Dry Hopped Sour

A tart kettle sour with an abundance of citrus and tropical fruit flavour.

Salud Tropical Wheat Ale

Salud to a new hop variety, Sabro! The flavour and aroma of freshly blended piña colada and orange slices are complemented by the subtle tartness of a wheat ale.
